The International Solar Festival 2024, held on the 5th and 6th of September in New Delhi, brought together key players in the solar energy sector to discuss the future of solar power and accelerate the global transition to clean energy. The event was organized by the International Solar Alliance (ISA). The festival attracted thought leaders, policymakers, and business executives from around the world to engage in critical conversations aimed at shaping the future of the solar revolution.
Becquerel Institute and TERI Partnership
Further enhancing its involvement in the event, Becquerel Institute collaborated with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) to co-organize two pivotal sessions at the Private Sector Pavilion. This pavilion served as a platform for engaging the private sector in discussions about the future of solar energy, and showcased how industry leaders can contribute to sustainable, scalable solar solutions.
The first co-organized session, India’s Enhanced Global Role in North-South Partnerships for a Faster Solar Transition, focused on India’s increasing leadership in fostering international partnerships to expedite the adoption of solar energy. Gaëtan Masson, CEO of Becquerel Institute gave a key presentation on "Key Global Trends on Solar and Storage Solutions," emphasizing the evolving technologies and strategies that will drive the integration of solar power and energy storage worldwide.
In the second session, Making Solar the Preferred Energy Source: Building Resilient Supply Chains for Clean Energy Transitions Globally, the focus shifted to the critical role of resilient supply chains in supporting global clean energy transitions. Gaëtan’s presentation on "Key Global Trends on Optimizing Solar EPC Supply" explored how effective engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) models can streamline solar adoption across different regions.
Gaëtan Masson’s Key Contributions
Invited by ISA as a speaker, he participated in the prestigious CEO Caucus: Global Leadership in Accelerating the Solar Revolution. In this high-level session, Gaëtan highlighted the "need to accelerate PV development in emerging countries, develop local manufacturing, and business models that suit local conditions. As well as, empower woman and generate added value while accelerating the energy transition."
Becquerel Institute extends its heartfelt thanks to TERI for the valuable partnership in co-organizing the Private Sector Pavilion and sessions at the International Solar Festival 2024, and to ISA for inviting us to participate in this important global event. Together, we are advancing the solar revolution and driving the clean energy transition forward.
